Dr Rob Walsh completed his initial medical training at The University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours. Early in his career he acknowledged the desire to acquire breadth and depth of knowledge in critical care which has led to a diversity of experience. He completed a neurosurgical scholarship in Hanoi Vietnam, expedition medicine training in the Arctic Circle with the Norwegian Special Armed Services, Retrieval Medicine training with the Australian Royal Flying Doctors Service, placements assisting with helicopter clinics in the islands of The Torres Strait, and remote medical services via boat in Fiji.

Rob worked in a number of Intensive Care Units to refine his clinical skills. A growing family and a passion for the outdoors directed a lifestyle change to Byron Bay where he shifted his focus to community medicine. He became the Director of a local Medical Centre and obtained additional qualifications through The Royal Australian College of Physicians to refine his subspecialty interests in addiction medicine and palliative care medicine. He was recruited as a senior clinician by The Sanctuary Byron Bay in 2010 and acquired ownership in 2017. Rob’s extensive frontline experience and understanding of this healthcare sector has given him the expertise to continue the Sanctuary’s legacy and optimise the treatment model.

Rob gives back to his profession with multiple roles in Australian Medical Education. He has held positions as a Senior Lecturer for The University of Queensland School of Medicine, Staff Specialist for NSW Health, Senior Medical Educator for GP Synergy, and fellowship examiner for The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.

Rob lives with his wife and three children on a certified organic avocado farm and enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle by surfing every sunrise, reading hardcopy books, and listening to a wide variety of music.

David is a UK citizen from Nottingham, England who has been a permanent resident of Canada since 1998, currently based in Victoria BC on Vancouver Island. He is a widely respected international healthcare management consultant. David has enjoyed a 30+ year career in the private healthcare sector, in International Health Insurance underwriting, Healthcare Management & Provider delivery in major medical & addiction recovery service lines, operating on most continents. He has lived and worked in more than 50 countries and in key strategic locations; London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney, Bermuda, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Paris, Gibraltar, Auckland, Boston, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, New York & Los Angeles.

David has extensive operational connectivity. As a dedicated professional, he is used to delivering strong consistent results. As a Strategic Director, he oversees the non-clinical aspects of the healthcare delivery business.

David has directed several multinational operations. He has held International Insurance and Hospital/Clinic related C-level executive & board level positions with AXA (PPP), Crown Life, Mutual of Omaha International, RSA, BMI Healthcare, XN, BUPA, World Medical Center (NOBEL), Kaleida Health - NY (Buffalo General Hospital), Bermuda Hospitals Board. He has consulted on Expatriate Solutions initiatives with MMC (Canada), European Benefits Administrators-EBA (Paris) and IBA (New York & Boston).

David has participated on international radio and television in relation to healthcare delivery. He has written for The International Weekly Telegraph in London, The International Herald Tribune in France, and has published articles in the Americas and EU.

David and his wife have seven adult children and seven grandchildren. His interests outside of international business include travel, cinema, theatre, film production, reading (Crime Fiction genre), the art of Salvador Dalí and crime-writing. He is the author of the ‘Oscar Phelps’ series of novels. He enjoys Cricket, Golf, Rugby Union, F1GP motor racing, Football (Soccer), Ice Hockey, American Football and Tennis.
